Bitcoin Lost $64K Before the CPI Print and Ether Fell Harder
Bitcoin slipped to $63,921 on August 11, down 1.59% in 24 hours, while Ethereum dropped 2.83% to $1,873. The 10-year Treasury yield climbed toward 4.7% alongside oil, and traders cut risk ahead of Wednesday's inflation data.

July CPI lands August 12 at 8:30 a.m. Eastern. Consensus expects headline at 3.4% year over year, easing from 3.5%, with core at 2.5% from 2.6%, the lowest since January. Both would be the lowest readings of the year and would extend the rate relief that started this rally.
The US Shed 23,000 Jobs, Bitcoin Went Up, and September Hike Odds Fell to 44%
July nonfarm payrolls fell 23,000 against a forecast of plus 80,000, the first drop in months. Wage growth slowed to 3.2% year over year, the weakest since May 2021. Odds of a September Fed hike dropped to 44% and Bitcoin pushed above $65,000.
